On the 22nd, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released data showing that China’s 5G network construction is steadily advancing. As of the end of October, the total number of 5G base stations reached 3.215 million, accounting for 28.1% of the total number of mobile base stations. Three basic telecommunications enterprises have 754 million 5G mobile phone users.

The relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said that China's communication industry continued to improve from January to October. The growth rate of telecommunications business revenue and total business volume has slightly increased, and the driving force of emerging businesses has increased. The construction of network infrastructure such as 5G, gigabit optical network, and Internet of Things has accelerated.

From January to October, the cumulative revenue of telecommunications services reached 1416.8 billion Chinese yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.9%. Three basic telecommunications companies completed internet broadband business revenue of 219 billion Chinese yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.3%. Emerging businesses such as IPTV (network television), internet data centers, big data, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things are developed, achieving a total business revenue of 301.2 billion Chinese yuan, a year-on-year increase of 20.5%.

Mobile internet traffic continues to grow rapidly. From January to October, the cumulative mobile internet traffic reached 245.6 billion GB, a year-on-year increase of 14.8%.
